Higher consistency operation
A hallmark of AFT’s widely used GHC2 rotor design is its ability to increase capacity and reduce power consumption compared to a traditional rotor. Our latest innovation – the Gladiator™ rotor – pushes capacity even higher with operating consistencies above 4.5%.
A key design component of the Gladiator rotor is the addition of performance fins on the back side of our patented PowerWave™ element to further enhance the suction pulses and micro-vortex fluid action. Working in collaboration with the waveform surface on the leading edge, these new fins channel even more fluid flowing over the element and create a suction pulse stronger than ever. This makes it possible to lower the rotor tip speed for energy savings and allows pulp to be screened at consistencies above 4.5% while still achieving excellent efficiency.
The Gladiator rotor also has a special skirt design with large openings on the extremity of its shell that facilitates the flow of pulp circulating into the screen – particularly beneficial at higher consistencies.
