Start-up of MaxEdge refiner at Sonoco Indonesia board mill

AFT is pleased to announce the successful start-up of a MaxEdge450 refiner at the Sonoco Indonesia - Subang West Java mill in Indonesia. Sonoco Indonesia produces sustainable and reliable uncoated recycling board for industrial packaging, from 100% recycled furnish.

Designed for quick segment changes and ease of maintenance, the MaxEdge refiner is built to deliver exceptional performance and efficiency for all low consistency refining applications. Its unique design features include customized Finebar MiniSegments for optimum quality development at lower energy and up to 3x longer life than conventional refiner plates.

In addition to supplying equipment and performance wear components, AFT is your advanced technology partner in complete system solutions – from basic engineering through to process optimization. Our refining specialists supported the installation and start-up of the new MaxEdge refiner to ensure mechanical and process operating targets. The scope of this project also included a mill-tailored PLC-based field control unit for the safe and accurate operation of the refiner.
